Who we are

Start Strong is a coalition of organisations and individuals seeking to advance high quality care and education for young children in Ireland. Our advocacy is built on clear evidence of the benefits this brings for children, for the economy and for society.

Originally founded in 2004 as the Irish Childcare Policy Network (ICPN), Start Strong was launched in 2009. In November 2010, we published ‘Children 2020: Planning Now, For the Future’, which outlines our vision of what children’s early care and education in Ireland could be. You can read the report here.
